Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-07
Privacy & Terms
Plain Words, Enforced in Code
Your account includes controls for your data and privacy. The policy below explains what we store, how it is used and what remains after erasure.
Consent
You Agreed, and We Can Prove When
Signup records the Terms and Privacy Policy you accept, with their versions and the time. Missing historical consent remains unknown.
Access
Export Your Personal Data
Your Account page exports your profile, skills, learning history, credentials and conversations, including institution and commercial records where present.
Erasure
Erase Your Account
Use Account to erase your personal records and revoke your sessions. Financial records and necessary consent proof remain de-identified as described in the policy below.
Retention
Clear Retention Rules
The policy below shows the current retention periods and what erasure removes. Credit records and consent proof have separate retention; points records are removed when you erase your account.
AI Grounding
No Search, No Made-Up Citations
When an answer ran without live web search, the citations it claimed are dropped rather than invented — the same rule behind every figure here, which is omitted when its source did not answer.
Your Resume
Yours to Control
Skills are extracted and written to your profile — remove any the parse got wrong, and it stays removed even after a new upload. The document itself reaches an employer only when you apply to one. Erasing your account removes the stored resume and parsed profile.

Who We Are and How We Use Your Information
FountainVerge Technologies Pvt Ltd operates FountainVerge. Registered address: F1008, Nikoo Homes 2, Bhartiya City, Bangalore - 560064. For privacy questions contact support@fountainverge.com. The designated grievance officer's details will be published before online payments become available. Until then, use our support contact for privacy concerns.
We process relevant information to provide accounts, career guidance, learning, consented institutional services, selected employer applications, funding, security and financial reconciliation. We do not sell personal data. Optional profile details and separate sharing choices are not a condition of accepting this notice.
Account Information
We store account email, name, password hash, verification and consent timestamps, and sessions. The service is for adults. Signup records your 18-or-over declaration but does not verify age. Optional birth date or demographic fields are not required for the current adult signup.
When email delivery is enabled, important service messages cover email verification, password recovery and password-change confirmations, and account or organisation access decisions. These operational messages are separate from marketing. The delivery provider receives the recipient address and message content. Our service emails do not use tracking pixels or track link clicks or email opens.
Institutions and Funding
Where enabled, institution staff invitations, cohort enrollment and the adult consent you accept, intervention progress, versioned assessment rubrics, scored demonstrations, institution verification or revocation, and feedback are stored on your account. Named staff access requires accepted active enrollment and the staff member's cohort scope; leadership sees aggregate reports. Sponsorship does not expose private mentor conversations or grant employer access. Funding invitations and monthly spending limits are separate consented records. Withdraw enrollment and funding from their account screens. These personal records are exported and removed or scrubbed on erasure; financial records follow the separate retention statements below.
Your Profile
Your profile can include your phone number, city, contact email, LinkedIn, GitHub and personal website. Contact details extracted from a resume are shown on your account so you can correct or clear them. The profile contact email is separate from your sign-in address and is not used to sign you in or send service emails. Date of birth, gender, postal address and profile photo are optional.
We store your education, interests, goals, years of experience and learner persona, such as starting work, changing careers or upskilling. Skills you enter remain your own claims with the weakest evidence tier. Skills you reject after parsing are recorded so your corrections survive the next upload. Education can provide a derived proficiency level and academic summary. Small display preferences, such as dismissed banners, are also stored.
Resume parsing extracts skills, a summary, relevant roles, total experience, and the experience, certifications, projects and languages in your resume. Where file storage is enabled, your uploaded resume file or pasted text is stored privately, replaced on re-upload, downloadable by you and deleted on erasure. An employer you apply to may access it where the employer portal is enabled, as described under Job Applications.
Learning Records
Your learning paths and course progress, field selections, AI analyses (such as field discovery, job matches and career intelligence), career roadmaps, credentials, portfolio items, course ratings and notifications. Older completed and failed AI analyses become eligible for routine removal after 180 days. The newest completed analysis of each kind is kept so your results stay readable. Retired roadmaps become eligible for routine removal after 365 days. Your active roadmap is kept. Notifications become eligible for routine removal after 180 days. AI research also keeps public source links, titles, publishers and recorded times, without search queries or page contents. AI cost and public-source records become eligible for routine removal after 400 days. A stored source is not a verified claim. These personal records are in your export and are removed on erasure.
Resume Optimiser
If you use the AI Resume Optimiser, the text you paste (or the text extracted from your upload) and its optimised versions are stored so you can review and apply them. The uploaded file itself is not kept. Erasure removes every stored version.
Screen Time
Where enabled, we record that the app was open and foregrounded: session start, end, duration and beat count. This does not record URLs, clicks, keystrokes, per-page dwell time or client-supplied timestamps. Screen-time sessions become eligible for routine removal after 90 days. The lifetime total is kept while the account exists; erasure removes the sessions and total.
Mentor Conversations
Your questions and the answers are stored so you can resume threads. Mentor messages become eligible for routine removal after 365 days. Erasure removes them.
Learning Activity
When behavioural personalisation is enabled, courses you open, jobs you view and searches that lead somewhere help improve your own recommendations. This activity is not shown to a provider or employer. Learning activity records become eligible for routine removal after 180 days. Derived interest signals remain while your account exists. Erasure removes both the raw and derived records.
In-App Feedback
If you answer an app feedback prompt, we store your ratings, what you write, and the context: your role, current goal, session duration and total platform time. Device type, language, timezone and app version come from your browser; the feedback record does not add an IP address, browser fingerprint or looked-up location. Unanswered feedback prompts become eligible for routine removal after 180 days. Feedback answers become eligible for routine removal after 2 years. Erasure removes both prompts and answers.
Job Applications
Where the employer portal is enabled, employers see nothing about you until you choose to share it. If you switch on “Let employers find you”, an employer with an open posting that fits you may see an anonymised card and invite you to apply. Matching uses the relevance threshold and role-family rules of your own openings feed. The card includes your match band and per-axis breakdown, matched and missing skills with their evidence tier, an experience band, education level, city and target role. It excludes your name, contact details, links and resume. A random handle allows an invitation without naming you.
Switching discoverability off removes the card on the employer’s next read. If an employer marks you hired through FountainVerge, discoverability turns off automatically; you can turn it back on.
When you apply to a posting or accept an invitation, that employer sees your name, city, profile contact email, LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio links, education, professional summary, exact years of experience and target role. They also see your resume's skills and summary, your resume's experience, certifications, projects and languages, your stored resume file and file name if uploaded, credentials, portfolio, completed courses and the skills they taught, your match for that opening and your application note. Withdrawing removes their access through FountainVerge.
Your applications, your notes and employer notes about you are included in your export and deleted on erasure. Applications and hidden-opening choices on an ended posting become eligible for routine removal after 365 days. The period starts from the recorded close or closing date. Hidden openings are stored to keep your feed consistent across devices. Employers are not told, hiding grants no access, and you can unhide an opening at any time. Hidden-opening choices follow the same export, erasure and removal rules as applications.
Usage and Reward Records
Credit transaction records support your balance and payment reconciliation. They have no automatic time-based deletion. Erasure de-identifies the associated account. Points events record progress and levels while the account exists; erasure deletes them. Keeping transaction records does not give us permission to retain identifiable personal data indefinitely.
Organisation Applications
If you apply as a course provider, institution or employer, we store the organization name, website, description, requested roles and any submitted category or accreditation evidence. The application is kept while the account exists and is not automatically removed after a fixed period. Erasure deletes it and clears identifying application details from the decision audit. Security audit and organization application decision records become eligible for routine removal after 2 years.
After Erasure
A one-way keyed marker derived from your normalised sign-in address helps prevent repeated free grants. It cannot reproduce the email, but it remains pseudonymous information rather than anonymous data. The same address cannot receive another one-time trial after erasure. For accounts using legacy allowances, the marker also prevents another signup bonus, another same-month monthly allocation and once-ever incentives. It does not prove that different addresses belong to different people and has no automatic time-based expiry.
Consent timestamps and the exact accepted policy versions and text, where available, remain on a de-identified account as evidence of the agreement. Older guardian stamps may remain as historical artifacts; current adult signup does not request guardian consent. Personal profile and message records are removed. Retained financial and security records follow the separate statements in this notice.
Policy Consent and Order Reviews
Signup records the Terms and Privacy versions, exact text and acceptance time where available. Missing historical versions remain unknown. Order quotes and receipts retain the purchase prices and policies you agreed to. These records provide evidence of the original agreement. Personal order-review messages follow the rules under Payments, Support and Retained Records.
Service Providers and International Processing
Relevant portions of a requested AI action may be sent to its configured provider. Hosting, email, storage and AI providers process the information needed for their service. Provider retention, use for training and processing locations depend on the selected provider and contract. Those terms may permit retention or training. We do not train our own models on your personal content.
Export and erasure controls cover the platform records described here. They are not a promise of immediate deletion from every external provider, recipient or backup. Information about the payment providers used, their processing locations and safeguards will be published before online payments become available.
Cookies and Browser Preferences
Authentication uses session cookies. Browser storage can remember account display and interface preferences; these preferences do not grant server access. Where sponsored funding is enabled, a funding account you select is held only in the open page and is not saved in browser storage. Clearing browser storage does not erase your account. Foreground activity is recorded only where that feature is enabled.
Payment Providers
Online payments are not active. Before enabling them, we will identify the payment provider and explain the necessary buyer/contact, order, amount and payment or refund references exchanged. Banks and payment providers may process data independently for fraud prevention, security and legal obligations. We will explain their roles and link to their policies before payments are enabled. Erasing a platform account does not delete externally retained payment records.
Payments, Support and Retained Records
Where purchases are enabled, orders, purchase prices and policies, payment confirmations, invoices, refunds and support-review requests support delivery and reconciliation. We do not store card numbers or CVVs in billing records. Do not put payment credentials in free-text messages or uploads. An order's buyer can access its records; sponsorship does not expose another buyer's purchases.
Your order-review messages and resolutions are included in your export and cleared on account erasure. The case status and de-identified financial relationship remain for reconciliation. The duration and basis for retaining real payment records will be published before online payments become available. Keeping financial records does not give us permission to retain identifiable personal data indefinitely.
Retention, Security and Policy Changes
The periods above describe when older records become eligible for routine removal. Removal runs regularly and may take longer during a backlog; these periods are not exact deletion deadlines. An active roadmap and the newest completed AI analysis of each kind remain readable while your account exists. Erasure follows the separate rules above. Access controls, password hashing, session revocation and security audits protect the service; no system is risk-free.
We update this notice when data handling changes. Accepted policy receipts and purchase terms preserve the earlier agreement. We will seek a new permission where required.
Your Rights and Privacy Requests
Use the Privacy & Data section in Account to export your personal data or erase a learner account. Organization closure requires an administrator. Edit your profile to correct it. Where those features are enabled, turn off employer discoverability or withdraw individual applications, and withdraw enrollment or funding in their account screens. Withdrawing one permission stops that future platform access; it does not delete another relationship or reverse a payment.
Contact our support or published grievance route for access problems, unresolved requests and applicable complaint rights. Rights and response duties depend on the applicable law and its commencement. India's DPDP framework has phased commencement; this notice does not claim every future provision is already effective.
